FMC Ovwian Commissions State-of-the-Art 128-Slice CT Scanner
Federal Medical Centre Ovwian has officially commissioned a new 128-slice Computed Tomography (CT) scanner, making it one of the few tertiary hospitals in the Niger Delta with this level of diagnostic capability. The machine, valued at over ₦450 million, was funded by the Federal Government through the Federal Ministry of Health capital allocation.
The Medical Director, Prof. Emmanuel Okoro, described the acquisition as "a game-changer for healthcare delivery in Delta State," adding that patients who previously had to travel to Lagos or Abuja for CT scans can now be served locally at significantly reduced costs.
